Bob comes to us from afar, but his heart is quite true to Cherry Valley. After spending several years helping out the Jaycees "in the background", he became an official member in the spring of 2007. He immediately sprung into a critical role in the Jaycees when he created and filled the position of Media Relations. Through his work as Media Relations Liaison, the Cherry Valley Jaycees saw expanded coverage in local news media outlets as well as developed this website. In January of 2008, he took the position of President of the chapter and now hopes expand on the wonderful work already done by the chapter. "I was honored to be nominated for President. While I have large shoes to fill, I am looking forward to the next year and beyond watching this chapter erupt into a highly recognized and effective entity in the community. We are here to serve you - the people of Cherry Valley and beyond in whatever you need to help make the community stronger" says Bob.
Bob has spent a lot of time working on community affairs. In high school, he was a 3 year member and 2 year president of PATT (Providing Alternatives to Teens - a division of the Bridge Youth Services). He was also part of the National Honor Society and served hundreds of hours of community service as part of that organization. In college, while attending the University of Alabama, he was a 2 year member and one year president of the CHC (College Helping the Community), all while competing in NCAA Div. 1 Cross Country and Track, and performing in both Jazz ensembles and touring with the band Middle Ground.
Bob lives in Palatine, and works for a large building automation company in Crystal Lake. His hobbies include anything having to do with music, including playing keyboards in the band Frontiers, and bass in the band You Know Who. He also enjoys working on 3D animation and designing websites. He has a trained cat, Fletch (yes, he does more than 20 tricks) and frequents MySpace and Facebook. He is a "gmail-a-holic" and loves everything Google. He can't roll in the morning without that first "Cup o' Joe"
