MEET CHAPTER MANAGER VERONICA CORWIN

In February of 2008 I was over dosing on sushi with my friend Jessica Onken, when she brought up an organization called the Jaycees that she was very active in. After talking about all of the things that the organization involves I decided to go to a General Meeting. My first meeting was March of 2008 where I became a member that very day. Little did I know what I was getting myself into. Who knew there could be this much energy?!

In the next three months I started learning a lot about the organization and me being the leader that I have been for years went into full leadership mode in June. In September of 2008 I became the Local Director. It was a blast to hold that office. I learned a great deal in just those few months. Since March I have gained many things but most importantly friendship. It is amazing how much this group is so caring and willing to help.

For the year of 2009 I have taken the position of Chapter Management Vice President. I am hoping that this new position will be as fulfilling as the first year. I think this position will suit me due to my organizational craziness. I also thought that I would really expand my horizons with taking on a regional position as Individual Development for the Northwest Region. What I do know about this year is that it will be jam packed full of excitement and fun!

As for me personally? I work full time for the Winnebago County Coroner's as a Deputy Coroner. I am also a Funeral Director and Embalmer. Yes, I do love my Job. It is very fulfilling. In what ever free time that I have I spend as much time as I can with family and friends. I love to read, Cook/Bake, play sports or do pretty much anything that spikes my interest. My home town is Durand, IL but I reside in Rockford, IL. My roots and heart are in a small town setting.

In the past I have been part of many clubs and organizations. Through which I have held a wide range of positions. I fill in where is needed and step up to the plate when things need to get done.
